Linguists

At LatinLingua we believe in mutual benefits because we know that is how the most fruitful and long-lasting professional relationships are forged. Our goal is for every stakeholder to benefit from their interaction with LatinLingua: from our Clients, by receiving top quality services, to our Linguists, by belonging to a network that fosters professional, personal and economic development.

This mutual benefit approach can only be feasible and sustainable by applying the right methodology. Our approach rests on three basic principles: recognizing linguists’ expertise and compensating them accordingly, assessing their performance and promoting constant learning through ongoing training.

We compensate the translators in our network according to their degree of expertise. We strive to build loyalty among our people by providing them with specific opportunities for growth and advancement.

point2.jpg (682 bytes) Performance Assessment
This is the clearest and most transparent way of moving towards professional excellence. Our performance assessments are aimed at providing constructive feedback and laying the groundwork for career development. They are fed from two sources: Customer feedback and LatinLingua’s evaluation. We carry out two types of evaluations. The first evaluation takes place upon completion of each project, once we have received feedback from the Client. This is an informal evaluation to give our translators specific feedback about each project. The second is a formal evaluation that is conducted annually and is geared towards making an overall assessment of performance. Results are then discussed with the translator being evaluated and serve as the basis for developing future action plans and setting the next steps for career development.

These two assessments help us identify specific training requirements that are key to the development of the members of LatinLingua’s professional network. Through training, our linguists improve themselves and raise the bar for the quality of the projects they participate in.
